Complete Sprinter Repair Services in Scottsbluff

Small businesses across the Nebraska Panhandle depend on commercial vans to keep operations moving β€” plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, contractors, delivery services, mobile repair companies, and small fleets all rely on their vans to get to job sites and haul the tools, parts, and materials they need. When those vans need service, they need to get in and out fast β€” every day a van sits at the shop is a day of lost revenue. Panhandle Diesel and Automotive is one of the few Scottsbluff shops equipped to service the full range of modern commercial vans: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Freightliner Sprinter, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Chevy Express, and GMC Savana. Whether you run one van, a small fleet, or manage a delivery operation with a dozen vehicles, our ASE-certified team keeps you working. Every service includes a free digital vehicle inspection sent to your phone, and every repair is backed by our 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Priority scheduling is available for fleet accounts.

You can check for any open safety recalls on your commercial van at NHTSA's official recall lookup.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter are the same vehicle with different badges β€” both are built by Mercedes-Benz and share the same engine, transmission, and chassis platforms. The Freightliner badge is used primarily for commercial fleet sales in the United States, while Mercedes-Benz sells them to consumer guests. We service every Sprinter generation, from the earliest T1N models (2002-2006) through the NCV3 generation (2007-2018) to the modern VS30 platform (2019+). Common services include diesel diagnostics on the OM642 3.0L V6 and OM651 2.1L four-cylinder diesel engines, injector service, transmission diagnose/service/repair/replace on the 722.9 seven-speed and modern 725 automatics, cooling system service, and DEF/AdBlue system diagnostics on newer models. Sprinters have specific service requirements that many general shops cannot handle β€” Mercedes uses proprietary diagnostic protocols and specific service procedures β€” and we have invested in the tools and training to service them properly.

Ford Transit Service and Repair

The Ford Transit has become one of the most common commercial vans in the Panhandle since its 2015 introduction. Transit vans are available with three engine options: the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6, the 3.5L PFDi V6 (naturally aspirated), and (for older Transit Connect models) the 2.0L EcoBlue diesel. Each engine has its own service profile. The 3.5L EcoBoost is a strong performer but has known timing chain issues that need to be addressed at proper intervals to prevent catastrophic failure. The 3.5L PFDi is more reliable but less powerful. The 2.0L EcoBlue diesel requires proper DEF service and diesel-specific diagnostics. We handle Transit-specific service including timing chain replacement on EcoBoost engines, 10R80 transmission service, brake work, complete drivability diagnostics, and DEF system service on diesel models. If you run a Transit for work, we understand the pressure to get it back on the road fast.

Ram ProMaster and Other Commercial Vans

The Ram ProMaster uses the 3.6L Pentastar V6 β€” the same engine you will find in a Grand Cherokee, Charger, or Wrangler β€” which makes it more affordable to service than dedicated commercial diesels and gives it excellent parts availability. Common ProMaster services include Pentastar rocker arm and cylinder head service (a known issue on this engine), 62TE transmission service, water pump replacement, and complete drivability diagnostics. We also handle the Chevy Express and GMC Savana (still available with 4.3L V6 and 6.6L V8 gas engines), the discontinued Dodge Sprinter (2003-2009, mechanically the same as the Mercedes Sprinter of that era), and older diesel commercial vans that are still on the road doing hard work.

Small Fleet Services and Priority Scheduling

If you are running two or more commercial vans, we work with you to build a maintenance program that fits your business operations. Fleet accounts get priority scheduling, which means less downtime and predictable service timing. We provide preventive maintenance tracking so you know when each van needs service before problems develop. We offer consolidated billing so you can manage costs across your fleet from a single invoice. We assign a single point of contact who knows your fleet, your priorities, and how to keep your vans working. And we work with your schedule β€” evening drop-offs and morning pickups. Talk to our team about setting up a fleet account. For businesses with mixed fleets (gas half-tons, diesel pickups, cargo vans, and medium-duty units), we can serve as your single vendor for everything β€” one shop, one invoice, every vehicle.

Common Commercial Van Issues We Diagnose and Repair

Here is what we see and fix regularly on commercial vans at our Scottsbluff shop:

  • Sprinter OM642 balance shaft, oil cooler, and DEF injector failures
  • Sprinter 722.9 transmission service and torque converter issues
  • Ford Transit EcoBoost timing chain wear and complete replacement
  • Transit 10R80 transmission shudder and torque converter service
  • Ram ProMaster 3.6L Pentastar rocker arm and water pump failures
  • Commercial van suspension wear from heavy daily loads
  • AC compressor failures from high daily use in delivery vans
  • Delivery van brake wear β€” we replace rotors, we don't resurface them
  • Turbo failure on Sprinter and Transit diesel engines
  • DEF system contamination and injector failures on newer Sprinters
  • Wheel bearing wear from constant loaded driving
  • Steering component wear from daily hard use

Why Commercial Van Owners Choose Panhandle Diesel and Automotive

Commercial vans are not personal vehicles β€” they are business assets that need to work every single day. When your van is down, your business is down. That is why we prioritize turnaround time for commercial guests, offer fleet-friendly scheduling, and back our work with a warranty that means you will not be back for the same problem twice. We are one of very few shops in the Nebraska Panhandle equipped to properly service Mercedes Sprinter diesels β€” a specialty that requires proper scan tools, training, and parts sourcing that most general shops cannot match. Add in our willingness to serve as a one-stop shop for mixed fleets (gas, diesel, small cars through medium-duty trucks), and you get a service partner that can handle everything you run. Every service includes a free digital vehicle inspection sent to your phone, and every repair is backed by our 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. We also accept aftermarket warranties β€” CarShield, ASC, Route 66, and others β€” and handle the claims process for you.
